"Dragon out the Dark Ages"

Films: Dragonslayer (1981)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Cave/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of a fighter jet.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: There was a time when magic began to feel its age. When the days of dragons and sorcery were coming to an end. But if that were the case, both elements of high fantasy would go out swinging.

History: In the kingdom of Urland, the last remnants of the magic age remain. The last sorcerer Ulrich, and the last dragon, Vermithrax Pejorative. The dragon has been around for over four centuries, and her extended age has left her in agony and fury, her children being her only solace. Now, the panicked kingdom can only offer her virgins in exchange for their safety. But the sorcerer's apprentice, Galen, isn't having any of it.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: In the end, after Galen kills Vermithrax's brood, Ulrich engineers a final confrontation between him and the dragon. He has Galen smash a mystical stone just as he's being carried off by her, causing him to explode and take her with it. The dragon's blown up corpse is all that remains, though despite her demise, magic may still exist in this world...

Powers/Abilities: Fire-breathing

Weakness: Anything conventional, though doing in the last sorcerer will definitely bring her down.

Scariness Factor: 4-Woe to any kid who saw Disney's name attached to this and thought it would be a harmless affair. From the get go, Vermithrax's introduction remains one of the most intimidating dragon entrances, and her kids are exceptionally violent. This is the kind of dragon that old medieval times were peddling, folks.

Trivia: -Vermithrax's full name quite literally means "The Wyrm of Thrace that makes everything worse" in Latin.

-To bring Vermithrax to life, the filmmakers actually based her design off the structure of pterosaurs, and utilized a special form of stop-motion, called "go-motion", to remove any jerkiness from her movement.

Love was a mystery? How about basic hygeine?

Still less creepy than the kids with their own bios here.
They also loved like mothers, in regards to their own kind.

The feeling is mutual, if you feel positively small.
Because the first poster wasn't metal enough.

A bright day to mark your end.
